What Gray Matter Solutions Offer

We certainly appreciate the difficulties presented when children and their families are frustrated due to the lack of progress made by the educational community or home setting. It is frequently difficult coordinating appointments around work schedules and other personal needs. GMNBS offers weekend and evening hours every day of the week, with the exception of Sundays. On Sundays, day appointments can be provided for a crisis situation, after speaking with a clinician by phone.

  • Professional development, seminars and classes for special issues such as neurobehavioral health, dyslexia, learning disorders and disabilities, epilepsy and seizure disorders, trauma, and team building.

Experience

Educator, Author and Researcher

Dr. Vuai has authored many scholarly articles and  the following books entitled Gray Matter Matters: Reflections on Child Brain Injury and Erroneous Educational Practices (2012) and Misbehaving Brains: Essays on Good Children Who Do Bad Things in Schools (2016).  Misbehaving Brains received a Five Golden Star Rating for its content by Reader's Favorite. 

Qualifications

2016 - Present

I am President/CEO and Clinical Director of Gray Matter Neurobehavioral Solutions, LLC. Providing various and multifaceted brain-based solutions for children, adolescents and adults with neurodevelopmental  and neurological disorders. Additionally, Lead Analyst and specialist in Applied Behavioral Analysis for children with Autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

2001-2005

I am a Staff Psychologist for Family Counseling Services. I worked in the children's and youth division of the Youth Emergency Services (Y..E.S.).program. This was a residential treatment facility for troubled children and youth with a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders. I was also involved with the juvenile detention center providing psychological, neuropsychological evaluations, counseling and therapy for incarcerated youth.  

2006-2017

I am  School Psychologist for the MIami-Dade Public school System. Specialized in providing evaluations and assessments for children with Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries (TBI/SCI). description. 

2007-2011

I am an Adjucnt Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Science at Barry University. I taught a number of courses to graduate and undergraduate students

2000- 2006

I am a School Psychologist for the Philadelphia School District. I provided evaluations, assessments and behavioral plans for children and adolescents. I specialized in providing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children experiencing learning problems suspected of a neurological origin.
