Individual counseling is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. It can help you deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, learning, parenting problems, school difficulties and career changes.

Group counseling involves 4-8 students typically once a week for 1.5 hours.  Group members talk about a variety of issues including exploring relationships, improving self-esteem, and enhancing coping skills.  Group members share information about themselves and provide feedback to others while group leaders facilitate productive communication in the group.

Neuroscience research has shown that systematic brain training with the help of a trained clinician can potentially result in the improvement of a number processing skills including attention, working memory, problem solving abilities, reading and, in some cases, psychosocial functioning.

GMNBS provides in-home services for children with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Autism, Down's Syndrome, ADHD and other emotional and behavioral disorders). The guiding principles of Behavior analysis focuses on the concepts that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behavior is followed by some sort of reward, the behavior is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning.

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of these techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior.

As Lead Analyst, Dr. Vuai will design and directly oversees the intervention process. This involves the following:
    1. Development of treatment goals stemming from a detailed assessment of each learner's skills and

        preferences and may also include family goals.
    2. Treatment goals and instruction that are developmentally appropriate and target a broad range of

        skill areas such as communication, sociability, self-care, play and leisure, motor development and

        academic skills.

    3. The development of goals that emphasize skills that will enable learners to become independent

        and successful in both the short and long terms.
    4. The instruction plan breaks down desired skills into manageable steps to be taught from the

        simplest (e.g. imitating single sounds) to the more complex (e.g. carrying on a conversation).
    5. The intervention involves ongoing objective measurement of the learner’s progress.

Dr. Vuai will frequently reviews information on your child's  progress and use this to adjust procedures and goals as needed. Additionally, he will meet regularly with family members and program staff to plan ahead, review progress and make adjustments as needed. ABA services are fully covered by Medicaid.

Comprehensive psychoeducational, psychological and school neuropsychological evaluations to answer the referral question are addressed professionally. The purpose of these evaluations is to identify your child's neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses. These evaluations are utilized for a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Apraxia, Dysgraphia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Conduct Disorder (CD), Oppostional Defiant Disorders (ODD) and Developmental Disorders.  Concussion screening and protocol for young athletes available. Testing available for Gifted also. 

GMNBS maintains close collaboration with pediatric neurologists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, pediatricians, patients, families, schools, and other healthcare providers that allow for a comprehensive assessment process.

GMBNS locates children who are potentially eligible for services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and links them with needed services.

Child Find services help to promote general public awareness of programs and services available for young children who have or are at risk of developing disabilities. Service coordination for diagnostic screening, recommendations for placement, training, and support is also provided.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we understand the reluctance of many parents to expose their children to risk factors. As such, we are now offering remote testing for your child in the comfort of your home. The tests are standardized and meet the assessment and testing requirements of both the National Association for School  Psychologists (NASP) and the American Psychological Association (APA). Additionally, during these time of uncertainty most parents don't have time to visit an office. We also offer virtual sessions via ZOOM or Microsoft TEAM that affords the opportunity to monitor your child's progress and meet with you weekly to discuss your concerns. Our team of Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBT) can provide up to 30 hours per week in home sessions for children who show challenging behaviors at home or school. A better way to understand the behavioral difficulties of children with Autism or others with serious behavioral challenges can now be assisted. A study of the child's natural environment is very helpful to identify the triggers that maintain maladaptive behaviors.
